Hey, guys. I’m Chris Collins, a fitness pro at Life Time Fitness, performance coach for Memphis 901 FC and a consultant with Cigna. Thanks for taking the time to check out my blog! Moving forward, this will be a spot where you’ll find posts related to corporate wellness, fitness, nutrition, athletic performance and more. First, I will tell you a little bit about myself.
With the mantra of “Commitment + Consistency = Results,” I’ve made health and fitness my life’s purpose. Growing up, I always had a passion for helping others through physical fitness and health education, even when I didn’t fully know what I was talking about! So, as a student-athlete, I earned my Bachelor of Science in exercise science, and later earned my Master of Science in health promotion, summa cum laude. In addition to my degrees, I also have three certifications through the National Academy of Sports Medicine: Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist. My academic background has provided a unique, evidence-based approach to help an array of individuals ranging from general population and athletes to employees of Fortune 500 companies.
Nearly a decade ago, my professional career started with Life Time Fitness as a personal trainer and as a consultant with Cigna. I am in my second season as the performance coach with Memphis 901 FC. I must give a HUGE shout out to the performance coaches that have helped and motivated me during my journey, Coach Joey D, Coach K-Wayne and Steve Hess, just to name a few!
Over the years, I have helped thousands of people achieve their respective health and fitness goals using my mantra – “Commitment + Consistency = Results.” Whether their goal was weight loss, increasing their vertical jump or reducing risk factors for metabolic syndrome, the statement applies for all. Make the commitment to yourself, be consistent (not perfect!) with your actions and results will follow.
