COMMUNITY WELLNESS
The CDC data reveals stark realities: BIPOC communities experience disproportionately higher rates of chronic diseases including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and obesity. These health outcomes are not coincidental but are directly connected to social determinants of health—factors like neighborhood safety, access to nutritious food, quality housing, educational opportunities, and healthcare accessibility.

Prevention-focused health initiatives serve as powerful tools for breaking cycles of health inequity. By bringing resources directly to communities and making preventive care accessible, we can create meaningful change at the grassroots level.

In collaboration with local organizations, I've help to design and implement community wellness initiatives such as health fairs and wellness festivals, biometric screenings & health assessments, mental health awareness workshops, group fitness classes and yoga sessions.
