I’m Chris Collins, Life Time Fitness personal trainer, strength and conditioning coach for the Memphis 901 FC and health promotions vendor for Cigna. Thanks for checking out my blog! Moving forward, this will be a spot where you’ll find posts related to fitness, nutrition, athletic performance and corporate wellness. Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
With the mantra of “commitment + consistency = results,” I’ve made health and fitness my life’s purpose. Studying exercise science as a student-athlete at Tennessee State University led me to be more conscious of how I cared for my body on and off the football field. As a result, a career as a personal trainer was a natural next step. Nearly a decade ago, I joined the Life Time Fitness team, offering clients – both in-person and online – help with nutrition guidance, weight loss, strength training, corrective exercise, and, athletic performance. Being a vendor with Cigna has allowed me to reach the masses in a corporate wellness setting. Over the years, my client roster has included a wide range of people – from weekend warriors to business leaders and physicians, couples, student-athletes and professional athletes, including MLS goalie Tim Howard.
My mantra doesn’t just lead me in fitness endeavors, it’s the driving force behind achievements in my personal life as well. I earned my Master of Science in Health Promotion, graduating summa cum laude, while remaining dedicated to a full client roster, family life and my own health. I also have three certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM): Certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist.
